Ripstop Nylon is a lightweight nylon fabric with ripstop reinforcement threads interwoven in a cross-hatch pattern. This material comes in many different colors, sizes and thicknesses. It is woven with thick warp and weft spaced so that tears don't spread.
Ripstop nylon may be water-resistant, water-resistant, fire-resistant, or have zero porosity (not allowing air or water to pass through) and come in light, medium, and heavy weights. Textures range from soft, silky materials to crunchy or hard fabrics that sound like paper bags when moved.
